eLearing for authorities

The Ministry of Economy, Technology and Employment:
The aim of this project was the creation of innovative digital learning material to decrease the dependency of employees on fixed dates of training. After a successful pilot project we are currently producing extensive learning material for the administration software “VISKompakt”. The introduction of new software to an agency is a typical scenario where the usage of eLearning can help you save time and money compared to old fashioned presence teaching.

eLearning-pilot project of the Bavarian Red Cross (BRK)

metacoon-services maintains the eLearning portal of the BRK. After authoring training the BRK constantly produces digital learning material for the further education of its employees.

GFAW – Organisation for the Promotion of Employment and Economy of the free state of Thuringia


Since 2004 the GFAW has been using an eLearning portal for the in-house training of their employees. metacoon-services supports the multimedia authors in their effort to produce digital learning material.

Projects in cooperation with the University of Erfurt

As part of a project supported by the Hochschul- und Wissenschafts-programm (HWP) the metacoon developer team and the Center for  Learning, Teaching and Educational studies at the University of Erfurt (ZLB) set up a platform for the further education program “Didactical Conception and Technology in Educaton”
 

eLearning-Summer Academy

In cooperation with 5 universities the metacoon team hosts the eLearning-Summer Academy every other year. The participants learn the fundamentals of the production of learning material. This includes knowledge on the fields of organisation, technical issues, design and media didactics. Professionals from the field of media supported education report on the latest developments in science and the economy.

The University of Jena and metacoon service conjointly developed a portal version of the metacoon platform. A community of experts such as trainers, scientists and coaches can share, offer and exchange information, learning material and services and present themselves in public.

metacoon platforms for vocational schools in North Rhine-Westphalia

For 10,000 students of the Hagen vocational school and its partner companies supporting vocational education an integrated learning management system based on metacoon technology is beeing developed. For this pilot pilot project metacoon was chosen from a number of open source learn management systems. This project of the wisnet association in cooperation with the 5 vocational schools in Hagen is supported by the European Union and the federal state of NRW.
The metacoon platform will be upgraded with school specific functionality to meet the requirements of schools (such as class management, interfaces for school management systems and implementation of school-specific didactics) The development of this school portal will be finished by the end of 2007. Projects with the FSU Jena

The FSU Jena was our initial partner for the implementation of the metacoon version 1.8.2. With the collaboration of the FSU metacoon service develops the its authoring tools and supports several eLearning projects such as the  Institut für Auslandsgermanistik.

Project management courses at the Bauhaus Academy for Further Education (WBA)

You can attend our courses about project management for eLearning and other projects at the Bauhaus Academy for further education in Weimar. The courses consist of presence teachings and homework with the support of a virtual learning room on the eLearning platform of the Bauhaus University Weimar. The WBA is currently planning the installation of a portal for further education.

eLBau - eLearning Bauphysik

eLBau is an in-service-training program of the Bauhaus University in Weimar.
Its goal is the imparment of knowledge in the field of building physics needed for the design and restoration of structures.

Support for scientists and universities with the application for subsides

Currently we are assisting Universities in Germany with the application for subsidies in the field of new media, educational and authoring technologies and the sustainability and marketing of the results of these projects.
Groups of scientists can use the virtual metacoon work rooms to organise their projects and exchange documents and information. Furthermore they can use the external homepage of the portal to present their project. This has become an important issue in the application for project proposals.
